CJ Katz is a food writer, cookbook author, and documentary food photographer based in Saskatchewan, Canada. She has been actively involved in the local food scene for nearly ten years. Her focus is telling the story behind the food both through her articles and through her photos: where it comes from, who grows it, and who cooks it.

In addition to writing and photographing, CJ is the culinary host of The Wheatland Café on CTV where every week she cooks up practical, straight forward recipes with a strong emphasis on using Saskatchewan ingredients.

She is also the Senior Saskatchewan Judge for Gold Medal Plates, and the Saskatchewan judge for the Canadian Culinary Championships. CJ is a consultant to enRoute Magazine’s Annual Listing of Canada’s Best New Restaurants. She has written for Wine Access, the National Post, the Regina Leader-Post, Saskatoon Star Phoenix, Tourism Saskatchewan, and Flavours Magazine. She has been a contributing editor to Good Morning Canada and a regular columnist on CBC Radio 1’s Morning Edition.

CJ lives in Regina with her husband and two sons.
